donna cerca uomo Vittoria Denika and Jason’s Engagement Session Canal Street Dartmouth, NS
So for the first time in 8 years I decided to give away a free engagement concept photography session. Lately I’ve been finding that I am not shooting the style of engagement shoot I would like against backdrops that I feel will reflect my photography style, feeling a little uninspired I guess as well. I always allow my clients to choose the locations they want for their engagement shoots because those locations can evoke emotions in them if it’s a special location that means something to them-I don’t think I will ever change that but I am hoping by showing more backgrounds I want to shoot, it will steer my business in that direction perhaps.
There are quite a few places I want to photograph in the Halifax municipality but just don’t get that opportunity. I really wanted some neat graffiti backgrounds in my portfolio as well as more rustic buildings as this really is my style. So off to Canal Street I went with my couple and then on to the Dartmouth waterfront for some night time photography. That’s another thing I don’t get to do, shoot engagements at sunset and after dark which I’ve really really really wanted to experience for so long.
Denika and Jason were absolutely wonderful to work with, Denika has such a presence on camera-she’s a real natural just the way she would tilt her head in just the right way. I didn’t have to give a lot of direction at all with her or Jason.
They met in 2007 but were dating other people. They would see each other randomly at local music venues and when their mutual friends all got together, but they didn’t become friends until September of 2012. Separately, they went to the Rise Against concert at Citadel Hill and both ended up right at the front of the stage and spent the entire evening dancing and having an amazing time. From that point forward they started hanging out, and in March of 2013 they made it official and started dating. Jason proposed on this Christmas Eve with a beautiful rose gold half eternity diamond ring with a champagne pink sapphire center stone-it is truly beautiful and so unique looking. Thank you so much for helping build on my artistic style and I wish you both nothing but the absolute best on your upcoming wedding in August!!!!
Here are my favorites from the session which are portfolio bound.
