FAQS ABOUT SANDRA ADAMSON STUDIOS
Choosing a wedding photographer is a major decision. Let me share the faqs about Sandra Adamson Studios, and myself. I am the wedding vendor you will spend the most time with. Before the big day, during your wedding and afterwards. It is so important that our personalities mesh. Not only that, but you need to LOVE my artistry. I honestly believe, that if you are not in love with my work, if you don’t have an emotional reaction to my work, you will not love the result. That phrase from Grey’s Anatomy always comes to mind…pick me, choose me, love me:)
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
I have been a registered wedding photography business, in good standing with the province of Nova Scotia since 2008. My first wedding was in 2006. Although I do have a full-time career in another industry I am available for weddings throughout the week and during the weekends.

How far in advance do we have to book?
In general, the majority of my weddings are booked 1.5 years in advance. If you love what you see on my website, I urge you not to wait. I only take on 5-10 weddings a year.
What happens if you are ill or can’t make the wedding?
Though I am not legally required to find a replacement photographer, I would take the following steps. The first step would be to access my network of over 500 professional photographers in Nova Scotia to help find a replacement with a similar style to myself and have them associate shoot or primary shoot. Failing everything, I can’t get a replacement photographer, your money would be refunded.
Can we meet in person for a wedding consultation?
We can meet online or in person whichever you prefer. I hold my wedding consults via Google Meet and they are approximately an hour and a half depending on how many questions you have. I walk you through my entire process, what happens before your wedding, how I handle your wedding day as well as what happens after your wedding day has passed. By the time we’ve finished, you should have a very good idea as to whether or not I am the right photographer for you.
Non-refundable retainer fee and signed contract?
I will hold your date for you until the end of our wedding consult as long as the consult takes place within a week of booking that consult, at which point your date will be released automatically from my calendar, if you do not book during the wedding consult. If someone inquires about your date within a week of your wedding consult, I will give you a courtesy email to let you know of the inquiry. After that 7 days, there will be no further notifications.
Do you have backup equipment?
I usually have a team of 4, and therefore have enough equipment for my entire team, (4) D750 cameras, (3) 24-120mm; 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 105mm, 16-25mm and 150-600mm, (4) speed lights and more. All of my cameras have dual card slots so your images are written to both cards for extra protection against card failure.
Do you work with a second photographer or assistant?
I no longer work with a team unless I feel it’s necessary. I have concluded, after 15 years, that a second photographer isn’t needed if you know what you’re doing.
How many hours for family/wedding party formals?
I have a general requirement of 2 hours and I can capture 20 groupings an hour. We will build an image list together and depending on how large your family and your wedding party are I will be able to see if we truly need that 2 hours. You must make sure those that are going to be in these pictures are at the location so things run smoothly and we aren’t hunting for people:)
Would you consider offering videography?
I have over 8 years of videography experience. As I am a single photographer and have no plans of rebuilding a team of photographers/videographers. I am willing to offer a highlight reel only if requested but photography comes first. There is only one of me so certain events during the day would be captured in photographs only-ring exchange, first kiss for example. Photography is my priority, videography is second in line.
