HALIFAX WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

We are a team of Halifax wedding photographers, capturing real “RAW” moments in an artistic style
for a lifetime of amazing memories! Servicing the province of Nova Scotia until covid restrictions are lifted.

Meet Your Storyteller!

Hey there, I’m Sandra. A Dartmouth, Nova Scotia raised gal, who married her high school sweetheart and rescued my beloved shih tzu, Jax. They are the center of my world.

I have been telling the story of my life through photos and scrapbooking for as long as I can remember. What once was just a hobby, sent me off the rails in 2008, into a career as a Halifax wedding photographer. I truly didn’t see this coming. For someone who plans every aspect of her life, it’s been an amazing ride. Grab your favorite drink, for me, that’s a diet dr pepper or a Timmie’s london fog and get to know me just a little better.

I want to capture your love story!

ABOUT ME

WHERE WE START IN TELLING YOUR STORY

Timeline

Having your wedding photography run smoothly on your big day means everything to me. I am a ducks in a row kind of gal. Organized to the extreme. Building the perfect timeline is important, so we don’t miss a single moment.

Image List

Just as important as your timeline,
we create an image list together including
all the important people in your lives. Again, not a single image that is important to you will be missed.

Collaboration

A team player at heart. You have a vision for your wedding day. I want to see that vision and bring it to life in your photographs. It’s just as important to me, that I am on the same page as both of you.

How to Create A Wedding Day Timeline

More advice

Choosing a wedding photographer is a major decision. They are the wedding vendor you will spend the most time with. Before the big day, during your wedding and afterwards. It is so important that your personalities mesh. Not only that, you need to LOVE their artistry. I honestly believe, if you are not in love with their work, if you don’t have an emotional reaction to their work, you will not love your end result.

How long have you been a wedding photographer?

I have been a registered wedding photography business, in good standing with the Nova Scotia government since 2008. My first wedding was in 2006. I am only available for weddings on the weekend and some holidays at this time.

Are you vaccinated against Covid-19?

Yes I am fully vaccinated and will be getting any boosters that are recommended. My team is also double vaccinated.

What is your Covid 19 policy on wedding rescheduling/cancellation?

I consider myself a very accommodating person. The retainer fee is non refundable. If you have to cancel your wedding due to covid 19 and government restrictions you have a few options. I do not charge a rescheduling fee due to covid. You can reschedule as many times as you like. I will even block off several dates for you if you are unsure what date you want to go with until you make your final decision. I will work with you in every possible way to capture your big day.
(1) You can reschedule the entire wedding day to a date I have available.
(2) You can split your coverage if you wish to elope on your present wedding date and have a big reception when restrictions lift as long as I have the availability for the second date you request.
(3) If you decide you want to wait covid out and have no rescheduling date planned at the time of cancellation, you have up to one year from your original wedding date to provide me with a new wedding date.

How far in advance do we have to book?

In general, the majority of my weddings are booked 1.5 years in advance. If you love what you see on my website, I urge you not to wait. I only take on 10-15 weddings a year. Of those weddings, I only take on 4 weddings that are photography and videography together a year.

Do you travel for weddings?

At the present time I am only available for weddings throughout Nova Scotia.

What happens if you are ill or can’t make the wedding for any reason?

Though I am not legally required to find a replacement photographer, I would take the following steps. The first step would be getting my team together to see if they can cover the wedding. As I have a team of 2 plus myself, one of the other two girls could step into my place easily as they have been trained in my style. If neither of them are available, I would then move to my network of over 250 professional photographers in Nova Scotia to help find a replacement with a similar style to myself and have them associate shoot at no cost to you and I would still edit the end result. Failing everything, if for example my entire team came down with covid and I can’t get replacement photographers, your money would be refunded.

Can we meet in person for a wedding consult?

We can meet online or in person whichever you prefer. I hold my wedding consults via google meet and they are approximately an hour and a half depending on how many questions you have. I walk you through my entire process, what happens before your wedding, how I handle your wedding day as well as what happens after your wedding day has past. By the time we’ve finished, you should have a very good idea as to whether or not I am the right photographer for you.

How long will you hold my date without a non refunable retainer fee and signed contract?

I will hold your date for you until the end of our wedding consult as long as the consult takes place within a week of booking that consult, at which point your date will be released automatically from my calendar, if you do not book during the wedding consult. If someone inquires about your date within a week of your wedding consult, I will give you a courtesy email to let you know of the inquiry. After that 7 days, there will be no further notifications.

Can we ask as many questions as we like?

I urge you to ask as many questions as you like as long as those questions do not pertain to the altering of my style or technique. What you see on my website and on my YouTube channel is what you will get. I never diverge or alter from what you see on my website as that is my brand, my style and technique. As I said in the opening of this section…you need to LOVE my artistry. I honestly believe, if you are not in love with my artwork as it stands, if you don’t have an emotional reaction to my artwork, you will not love your end result.

Do you have backup equipment?

I usually have a team of 4, and therefore have enough equipment for my entire team, (4) D750 cameras, (3) 24-120mm; 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 105mm, 16-25mm and 150-600mm, (4) speed lights and more. All of my cameras have dual card slots so your images are written to both cards for extra protection against card failure.

Do you work with a second photographer or assistant?

I love collaboration and work best in a team environment. This is why I will always have a team of 3-4 photographers who rotate on weddings with me. Full day coverage will always have two photographers. If you purchase the video highlight reel there will be two of us as well.

Are there any hidden costs?

No, I am as transparent with you as I can be during our wedding consult. If you have questions about pricing feel free to reach out and we can chat more.

How many hours should we set aside for wedding day formal photos with family and the wedding party?

I have a general requirement of 2 hours and I am able to capture 25 groupings an hour. We will build an image list together and depending on how large your families are and your wedding party is I will be able to see if we truly need that 2 hours. It’s very important that you make sure those that are going to be in these pictures are at the location so things run smoothly:)
