Katie and Derek’s special day unfolded against the enchanting and elegant backdrop of the Alumni Gardens, a beautiful outdoor wedding venue. Providing a truly magical and picturesque setting for their wedding ceremony. The celebration continued with a reception at Jenkin Hall on the Dalhousie University campus in Truro, Nova Scotia.

The Love Story

Katie and Derek, self-proclaimed nerds, initially met through a mutual friend at a party. Though mere acquaintances for some time, they gradually bonded over shared interests, often running into each other at local groups like Pokemon Go. Over the years, their casual conversations blossomed into a deeper connection, and they began spending more time together. Deciding to take the leap, Katie and Derek started dating, a decision neither ever regretted. The theater quickly became one of their favorite shared pastimes, with the couple attending over 20 movies together in their first year of dating. Homebodies at heart, they also cherished their time gaming or simply enjoying each other’s company.

Their Wedding Day

The ceremony was Katie and Derek’s favorite part of the wedding. It was a joy for them to share their love and commitment with families and friends. They both had known for a long time that they wanted to get married. Katie and Derek chose the venue because it was beautiful, simple, and outdoors. The reception hall across the road was a convenient perk. They opted for a simple yet elegant theme, as they felt tthey needed nothing more than each other and their loved ones.

The tranquil, romantic ambiance of the Alumni Gardens enveloped the ceremony, making it feel like Katie and Derek had been transported to a secluded, storybook setting far removed from the outside world.
