A Beautiful Golf Course Outdoor Wedding with Abbie and Shayne
Abbie and Shayne had the most gorgeous golf course outdoor wedding this past June. The ceremony was held under the shade of a massive old tree. The absolute perfect lighting for their bright, sunny and very warm day.
The Love Story
Abbie and Shayne met while they were both looking for housing for their Masters. They were potential roommates but the timing didn’t quite work out! Instead they wound up becoming friends and eventually fell in love. A great long lasting love story always begins in friendship! Have a peak at their beautiful Halifax Public Garden engagement session.
Their Wedding Day
What a stunningly, beautiful and warm summer day for a wedding in June. It was a very relaxed and fun environment for everyone.
Advise for the Newly Engaged
Remember to savour the moments. Savour every minute of your big day as it does go by so swiftly, get lost in the moments.
The Wedding Prep Photos
Abbie’s family, at the last moment, decided to rent out the entire Carlisle House for her and her bridesmaids to get ready in. Another very quaint heritage style Inn across the street from the Hillsdale House. The rooms were huge and the perfect setting for bridal wedding preparations. Lots of family and friends were there to help her get into her beautiful blue wedding gown. It was truly stunning, different and so unique.
Shayne got ready with his groomsmen at a home in Grandville Ferry not too far away.
The First Look Wedding Photos
Both Abbie and Shayne felt the first look was everything on their wedding day. It was all about that first look, in front of the beautiful old heritage looking, Hillsdale House, in Annapolis Royal. It made for such amazing images with the stunning white pillars and front porch. Abbie had a short walk up the stairs to where he stood, to build the anticipation. Shayne said Abbie was just so beautiful, she took his breath away. Abbie felt that first look gave them some precious time just to bask in everything together for a few moments alone before the festivities began.
The Wedding Ceremony Photos
Abbie and Shayne’s wedding day festivities took place at the Founders House. A simple but beautiful gold course outdoor wedding in Annapolis Royal. They decided to have their wedding ceremony under a giant old tree on the golf course. That old tree provided just the right amount of shade on that bright sunny day for their wedding party and all of their guests. The perfect lighting for their wedding ceremony. Abbie and Shayne both loved the historical elements of the wedding venue combined with the outdoor nature settings as well.
Golf carts were used to shuttle the bride, groom, wedding party and guests to the wedding ceremony location. Couldn’t forget to grab that candid of the bride and groom driving themselves back down to the venue.
The Wedding Party Photos
The Founders House provided a lot of great places for their wedding photos. From the shade under that massive old tree for family photos to the beautiful garden surrounding the gazebo by the wedding venue. But not only that, there was a rustic old barn style garage on the property which added a little bit of the rustic style wedding photos as well.
I saw a gorgeous lupin field on my way to this wedding venue that day. A lupin field wedding photo has always been on my bucket list and this was just such perfect timing. I suggested the field to Abbie and Shayne and they jumped at the opportunity. Abbie had lupins in her bouquet! Those images did not disappoint!
The Wedding Reception Photos
The Founders house provided a simple and natural style where the focus could be on Abbie and Shayne’s love. Outdoor was key feature they were looking for because they both love nature. Did you know that the club house at the Founders House was secretly a former barn? Oh we know how much I love barns! Great food, great view, with a great price, this is a wedding venue you should definitely check out!
