Wedding Dress Styles and Shops in Nova Scotia

In today’s market, there are so many different wedding dress shops in Nova Scotia! Where to start and what style should you choose? It ultimately comes down to five main styles. The Silhouette, the A-line, the Mermaid, the Trumpet and the classic princess Ballroom wedding dress. Within those five styles, you have different looks including short or long hemlines, minimalist, lace, sleeveless, off-the-shoulder sleeves, short and long sleeves, low back lines, sweetheart neckline and tall necklines, and don’t forget the back of your wedding dress, corset, buttoned or zipper. It doesn’t end there, you can style your wedding dress up with a beautiful pair of unique shoes, beautiful belts and boleros.

The Silhouette Wedding Dress

The Silhouette wedding gown is sleek. It lightly floats over your curves and falls gently to the floor in line with your hips. This wedding dress will follow the natural curves of your body. These gowns again will fit any wedding theme from boho to sexy, chic, or vintage-style weddings.

The A-Line Wedding Dress

The A-line wedding gown looks great on any bride however it looks especially beautiful on a pear-shaped body. This style of dress will flatter any body type as the skirt portion extends out from the waist, to flare slightly over the waist and hips. This was the style of dress I chose to go with for my wedding. Most brides who are unsure of the style of wedding gown they want will start with the a-line and move on from there. This style of dress is very flexible and will work with any wedding theme.

The Fit and Flare Wedding Gown

The bodice of this style gown is fitted above the waist and flows into a subtle flare below the hips for a beautifully stunning silhouette. Usually, brides with pear and hourglass body types will choose this style of wedding gown. Smaller stature brides will look taller in this style of gown as it adds length to the torso area. Fit and flare style gowns will flow down the aisle and are ideal for any style wedding, vineyard, barn, or art museum. Classy and elegant.

The Mermaid or Trumpet Wedding Dress

This wedding gown presents a very sexy silhouette and will make you look like a goddess by hugging and amplifying all your hourglass curves. It features an elongated and tight bodice bodice with a daring flare at the knees. If you are a bride looking for a sultry, sexy, extremely romantic effect, this may be the gown for you.

The Wedding Ball Gown

This is the classic princess dress that every little girl dreams of when they think of their wedding day. There are a lot of elegant options for the bride looking to keep their hemline off the ground and show off their wedding shoes. From knee length to mid-length, to anywhere in between, this wedding dress is ideal for those brides looking to elongate their body frame.
