Are you thinking about having your engagement photos in Halifax parks? Point Pleasant Park is a great location for an engagement shoot. There are so many different options, the forest, the forts, the gatehouse and not to mention the ocean. Definitely a location to check out.

The Love Story

Randi and Tristan met in college, in Sudbury, Ontario. They were both in the Theatre Production program. Tristan was a year ahead of Randi when they met. He and his roommates had a house together off campus where they hosted the social events for the program. After hanging out a few times as a group, Randi asked Tristan if he would like to grab coffee some time. They both ended up getting dinner instead. After dinner, the decided to walk to the top of a big hill overlooking the city lights. On the way back down down, Tristan slipped on a patch of ice and joked that he was falling for Randi already. It might have been a joke at the time, but a few months later he was the first one to say “I love you”. The rest as they say is history.

How was the Question Popped?

Tristan suggested they go for a hike to a lookout to see the fall colours. They drove an hour to get to the trail they had chosen to hike. Once they arrived they found the parking lot full. There were cars lining both sides of the highway in either direction. At this point Randi didn’t even want to hike anymore but Tristan convinced her that they should find another trail to check out “since they had driven all this way”. They found a rougher hiking trail then they had intended on. Randi kept saying that they could turn back at any time, but Tristan was very insistent that they try to find a nice view. The trail continued to wind up and down through heavy forest. Eventually they came across a cute little wooden bridge. Randi suggested that it was a nice place to stop and take some pictures. Tristan replied with, “you know what else this is a good place for?” and dropped to one knee.

The Sneak Peak of Their Engagement Photos in Halifax Parks

Randi and Tristan chose Point Pleasant Park for their engagement photos for a couple different reasons. First, it offers lots of variety in terms of scenery (forest to reflect their engagement story, as well as the ocean and various other backdrops). Also, most of their time together as a couple has been spent in Ontario, however the first summer that they were dating, Tristan came to visit Randi in Nova Scotia. For two weeks Randi dragged him all over the province trying to show him all the highlights in the short time he was there (after a few days of this, he begged Randi for a day to just relax). One of the things they did together during that whirlwind of a trip was attend a performance by Shakespeare by the Sea in Point Pleasant Park.

Make sure to take some time to enjoy being engaged before jumping off the deep end with wedding planning. Remember that your wedding day is ultimately about you as a couple, not about pleasing everyone else, so focus on the details that matter to you.
