Nova Scotia Backyard Wedding Ideas
Nova Scotia backyard wedding ideas, where to start? I guess that would depend on what kind of theme or style wedding you are most interested in. There are so many options available for wedding decor and can be done in DIY style. I really love backyard weddings. No two weddings are ever the same. Choose your own backyard, a relative’s private property or even a friend’s.
Themed Seasonal Backyard Weddings
How about having a themed backyard wedding set around a season of the year? The following wedding was a autumn themed backyard wedding with a slight rustic side to it as well. It was the first surprise wedding I’ve ever captured, everyone thought they were having an engagement party. It was also the first pig roast I have ever attended.

Rustic Barn Style Backyard Wedding With Bails of Hay
What about choosing a favorite relative’s property that holds meaning to you and your fiance? This bride used her grandparents backyard and barn for her wedding ceremony. A simplistic approach to a rustic style wedding with hay bails, mason jars filled with baby’s breath and a country style table with lace table cloth for signing their marriage certificate. Don’t forget the barnyard tractor and the classic antique car for added effect!
Rustic Backyard Wedding With Church Pews
This bride’s wedding was also held in a field on her grandparent’s private property in Sambro Nova Scotia. Another rustic themed wedding with camouflage and deer memorabilia. Even the classic cars were present. I loved how the barn doors opened just before the Bride walked up the aisle and all the rose petals going up the aisle way. How about church pews for the front row and bails of hay for the rest of your guests? With backyard wedding’s you can truly make them your own!
A Simply Elegant Backyard Wedding
This bride used a friend’s private property right on the ocean. It was an absolutely stunning location. Her decor was very simple, a few hanging lanters, white chairs and a trellis, but very elegant. They even had a golf cart to take elderly guests down to the ceremony site as it was a bit of a distance from the driveway.
